Group Fitness Classes

Spin (Indoor Cycling)
Spin is a fantastic cardiovascular group exercise class that uses special stationary bikes. This non-impact exercise is designed for all fitness levels. Classes are full of fun, inspiring music and include the elements of outdoor cycling, such as hills, sprints, and endurance work. Whether you're just starting an exercise routine or have been exercising for years, you'll a great workout from spin. The Hills spin bikes can be used with athletic shoes or cycling shoes with SPD clips.

Spin/Boot Camp
This Interval training class (moving Inside & Outside) uses spin bikes, BOSU©, hand weights, resistance bands, balls, & core rollers. Get ready for a vigorous Cardio/Strength class w/ added elements of Balance & Flexibility. All levels are welcome.

Spin/Sculpt
In this all level Spin class you get a superior cardio workout followed by a full body sculpting routine using the BOSU©, dumbbells, resistance bands, balls, & foam rollers.  

 

Circuit Training
Every circuit class offers two sets of 12-14 stations, each with unique and challenging exercises to build strength and muscle endurance, followed by 5 minutes stretch and cool down.  Reap the benefits of supervised strength and muscle conditioning in this fun and varied routine.

 

Strength and Balance

Good balance is key in improving and maintaining our quality of life. Balance is one element of fitness that will decline with age and lack of use, but that responds quickly to regular training.
In this all level class, we focus on developing balance, core strength and learning a variety of exercises for building strength and muscle tone, using free weights and resistance tubes.

Feldenkrais®

The Feldenkrais Techniques is also referred to as Awareness Through Movement.  This is a gentle, yet effective form of body work, especially suited for improving posture, injury recovery, and relaxation.  This class comes with an extra fee.

Low Impact Plus

The Low Impact routine offers a fun and energizing whole body workout, focused on bringing the heart rate up for a full 45 minutes, with safe, low impact aerobics steps. The class is completed with 15 minutes of strength and core training using dumbbells and resistance tubes.

 

Zumba®
ZUMBA® connotes buzzing like a bee, or going fast in Spanish.  Using moves from salsa, mambo, cha-cha, tango, merengue, hints of flamenco, calypso, hip-hop and belly dancing, ZUMBA® feels more like a fun dance party than a workout. You will be surprised by the intensity and by the great results.


Nia
Nia blends Nine Movement Forms Tai Chi, Jazz Dance, Feldenkrais, Tae Kwon Do, Modern Dance, the Alexander Technique, Aikido, Duncan Dance and Yoga. Nia is done barefoot to music and delivers cardiovascular and whole-body conditioning. Because Nia is self-guided and based on creating a loving relationship with the body and following The Body’s Way – the innate intelligence of the body — it is adaptable and safe for any fitness level, from stiff beginners to highly fit athletes.

Pilates

Pilates, named after its founder Joseph Pilates, is a mind body movement technique where students learn to use focused breathing, deep body awareness and muscle control to improve core strength, posture, and overall alignment. Pilates is often incorporated in Physical Therapy to aid in back care.  However gentle, Mat Pilates offers a great workout and is perfect both for desk jockeys as well as professional athletes.  Click Here for More Pilates

Level I - Essential Mat
This is a safe place to start learning the Pilates technique. Basic principles such as breath and alignment are explained and essential, yet, surprisingly challenging exercises are taught at a manageable pace.
 
Pilates Plus

The Pilates Technique is further explored using Foam Rollers, Pilates Circles, and Flex Bands. The props offer a safe, yet challenging workout targeting core muscles, upper and lower body.

 

Bosu© Pilates
This is Mat Pilates brought to new heights incorporating the Bosu© ball. This unstable surface offers a supreme challenge to the core muscles while providing the ultimate support and safety for the spine. All levels are welcome.

Ball Pilates

By doing Mat Pilates on a stability ball we can bring variety and challenge to our workout.  This hour class improves balance as well as full body strength and flexibility. Also, see Kelly's Core class.

Kelly’s Core class
Have fun, work the core and more on the stability ball. This strength and core class will bring your heart rate up and build strength all around your core. You will get a full body workout using light weights and resistance tubes.

Water Aerobics

Aqua Aerobics is suitable for all levels. It is a complete hour of deep water and shallow water exercises designed to use the waters natural resistance. Props such as buoys, noodles and aqua belts are provided. It is fun and challenging!

 

Water Polo (Seasonal)

Don’t miss this fun and challenging, all level group fitness class. No previous experience required. All participants are wearing a flotation belt, but you will still get a great cardiovascular and muscle toning workout.  An hour of water polo can burn up to 700 calories. The class is taught by Elaine Hoffman who is a Water Aerobics Instructor, Physical Therapist, and a Life Guard.

 

Yoga

Yoga is wonderful in minimizing the stresses of daily life. It benefits the body with strong bones, long muscles, joint mobility, and strong lungs. It benefits the mind by teaching the mind to still itself, to listen to its deep inner intuitive thoughts.

Domonick:
Monday and Wednesday 1:00PM: This class offers gentle and focused guidance through poses suited for all bodies. More experienced yogis may be offered more challenging alternatives in these classes.

Tuesday/ Thursday Commuter Yoga: Start the day right with an hour of all level yoga. You will awaken body and mind while watching the beautiful sunrise at the Hills Club.

Barbara:

Tuesday/Thursday ,  Friday (Barbara/Domonick)

These all level classes are a mixture of Yin and Yang movement. Yin is composed of long held postures that gently, deeply open the body, bringing fresh energy. The Yang portion of the class brings flow and balancing, using breath, while strengthening the body, and the stilling the mind. The last Friday of every month is Restorative Yoga, a time for beginners and experienced yoga alike to restore body and mind in long held, supported poses and allowing body and mind to fully relax.

Katie/Domonick:

Arrive on Sunday morning to a yoga journey with both vigorous and restorative qualities. Beginners and experienced yogis are welcome to this class.
