Here at Santa Barbara Athletic we offer more than 90 classes every week allowing you to always find a great class to fit into your schedule.

Class Descriptions


ALL CLASSES ARE 55 MINUTES LONG UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED

AQUATICS

Aqua Aerobics - A low impact aerobic exercise class for all levels.
Fitness Swim - Fun swimming sets and a variety of functional training routines including yoga and other creative fitness movements.
Masters Swim - A coached, personalized group water workout
Deep Water Aqua Aerobics -A group aerobic workout using the power of the water.

CARDIO
Cardio Boxing
- A high energy, non contact workout combining aerobics with the
technique of kickboxing.
Cardio Xtraining
- Weights & cardio combine to develop strength and endurance in this
fun workout.
Cardio Hi/Low - A high-energy class for cardiovascular endurance
Cardio Moves - A multi-impact dance based cardio workout incorporating jazz,
modern, funk & hip hop
Endurance Spin - Moderate intensity 55 minute spin class
H.I.I.T - High Intensity Interval Training focuses on balance, heart rate and resistance training
Hip Hop
- Fun & funky. High intensity, low impact street dance moves
JFX Bootcamp - Build total body strength, balance, flexibility and core stability with this high intensity workout.
Nia
- Blends martial arts, dance & healing for an empowering cardio workout
Spinning - An intense workout on spinning bikes in our beautiful outdoor studio
Spin & Core - 45 minutes of spinning followed by 15 minutes of core work
Spin/Yoga - 45 minutes of spin followed by 30 minutes of yoga geared for cyclists
Step - High-energy class for cardiovascular endurance with the use of the step

PILATES
Pilates - Based on the work of Ron Fletcher using the percussive breath.
Pilates Sculpt - Uses small, hand held equipment for core stabilization and
strength development
Pilates Mat - For all fitness levels. Core strengthening and lengthening exercises
based on the works of Joseph Pilates
Pilates Mat II - For the intermediate Pilates student. A continuous flow from
exercise to exercise designed to take your practice to the next level.

RESISTANCE TRAINING
Weighted Workout - Dynamic class utilizing bars, weights, bands or tubing for
strength and definition
Body Sculpting - Pump your way to a toned and trim body utilizing hand weights,
bars and balls. Emphasis is on full body movement, core stability and strength.
Circuit Training - Utilizing interval training, this total body conditioning class
tones muscles, improves muscle strength and provides a cardio workout.

STRETCH AND RELAXATION
Tai Chi - Experience this ancient movement practice for health & well-being
Gentle Yoga - A gentle introduction to yoga, flexibility and centering. a perfect
place to begin your practice
Basic Yoga - Learn yoga basics, postures, vocabulary and alignment
Yoga - Our skilled instructors will guide you through postures, flexibility and
centering movement
Yoga II - For the intermediate Yoga student.  Designed to take your practice to the next level.

OTHER INTERESTS & SPECIAL EVENTS
Ballroom Dancing - Wear soft-soled shoes. no partner required
Brazilian/Belly/Moving Ballet/Go Go Dance - Experience all of these fabulous dances
